Super Bowl XLI

It's finally here. A yearly ritual of watching "the greatest sporting event" on TV. This year it is going to be between Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Bears. A high powered Colts offense verses a super stingy Bears defense. It's a great matchup between Urlacher and the Colts running tandem and Urlacher verses Colts short passing game. I think the matchup is pretty even. I however think that the Colts will blow the Bears out of this universe by pressuring Rex "Boy am I confident!" Grossman. Rex will get rattled and he will fumble, throw interceptions and I think Rex's career is pretty much over with the Bears after the Super Bowl. I believe Colts "Cover 2" defense will confuse Senor Grossman and Dwight Freeney's pressure will cause havoc with this young, still quiet green, quarterback. I also think Thomas Jones and "Mr. Longhorn" Cedric Benson will be have an "okay" game. I believe the Bears only chance of victory will depend on Special teams. If they could some great field position, I believe the Bears running game might take advantage of the situation. I was not impressed with Colts kickoffs and punts last week verses the New England Patriots. Unless there are not any major injuries, I believe the final score will be 28 -5 Colts and the MVP is going to be the Colts defense. Anyway those are my thoughts about the Super Bowl XLI. 24-13 Colts. The MVP trophy is already having Peyton Manning's name inscribed.

Reflecting on my high school education, I recognize certain classes have had a significant impact on me from a personal and professional standpoint.  One of the classes I didn't enjoy much while taking it has made a considerable impact on me as a leader.  Nope.  It wasn't biology, physics, English, geography, or any other standard high school.  It was a course called History of Oklahoma. Yup!  In the early 1990s, the state of Oklahoma required students to take and pass a class about Oklahoma history to earn their high school diplomas.  I spent my ninth and tenth grades in Oklahoma and then completed my eleventh and twelfth grades in Kansas.   In the Spring of 1991, I took History of Oklahoma, which was taught by Mr. Jones.  Mr. Jones was a US Air Force pilot who flew sorties during the Vietnam War.  A couple of times, he had slide shows with pics of him and his buddies in the military.  Mr. Jones' classroom was also quite memorable ...

Today I found out on facebook that one of the guys I used to ride the bus with in India passed away a few years ago. He was a Kenya n and he and I used to ride in the back of the school bus. His name was Leonard but he used to go by the name Lenny. The disturbing part about his death is how he did died. He died in October, 2002 at Springfield, Missouri . According to BlackPressUSA.com , Lenny was found dangling from a microwave tower. The local police stated Lenny killed himself but the evidence shows that he could have been lynched. Springfield, Missouri was known to have racial problems but it hits a bit closer when someone you knew could have been lynched. Leonard Gakinya (Lenny), it was a pleasure knowing you.

Who are your top ten POTUS' on Presidents Day

After reading the article, Presidential experts rank Biden 14th among presidents in survey, Trump comes in las t  by Siock (2024), I was curious about the details of the survey.  According to the Official Results of the 2024 Presidential Greatness Project Expert Survey (Rottinghaus & Vaughn, 2024), the top ten US Presidents are: Abraham Lincoln  Franklin Delano Roosevelt George Washington  Theodore Roosevelt Thomas Jefferson Harry Truman Barack Obama Dwight David Eisenhower Lyndon Baines Johnson John Fitzgerald Kennedy Donald Trump is listed as the worst president. Overall, I disagree with the list because I don't envision Theodore Roosevelt, Obama, or Kennedy being the top ten presidents. Lincoln, FDR, Washington, Truman, Eisenhower, LBJ, Monroe , and Jackson scored higher in my book because they led the US during war times.  What did Obama do?
