Focus on the Lord

Image
Today I spoke on Exodus 15 which has the Moses' song, Miriam's antiphonal response and the bitter waters of Marah. I explained that this chapter is personal in the sense that we too praise and worship God and Christ once we are saved and then we continue on as Christians. We as Christians face trials and tribulations but we need to be focused on the Lord. Thats' all for now but have a Happy New Year! I am going to someone's house to celebrate with my Christian brothers and sisters.

New Market, Maryland

Image
Today I finally decided to take a walk through the downtown district of New Market, Maryland (MD) and visit a few stores. Mind you that I only live 100 yards from the area and I haven't had the time or the desire to visit the stores. New Market, MD is known for its antiques and other folk art stuff. Eventhough the town itself is not that big, it is a tourist attraction. I enjoy living there because it is peaceful and quite and it is not that far from Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC . When I was at the stores, I found out that last night the city council approved to annex more land around New Market for more urban development. I am not happy about it since my peaceful and quite town is going to end up as a "burb". Green peace and other environmental groups worry about global warming, deforestation and globalization. I am worried about loosing my small town.

Asian Fusion Lunch and cleaning walls

Today I have been busy cleaning my kids' bedroom's walls. The walls are coming along and I'm hoping to be done with that task by end of today. During lunch today, I remembered my friend Ajay and decided to dedicate my meal to him. Here is what I ate: Nutty Pilaf with Priya Mango Pickle Butter Popcorn Pita Bread and Hummus If you are reading this blog entry, please pray for my kids since both of them are recovering from a cough and cold.

Grants.gov team

Today I went to lunch with my previous project Grants.gov where I was a XML programmer. It was nice to meet my old team. Everyone's (Grants.gov) career has either advanced or drastically changed. My old boss is currently working on a project in London, England . He too is currently working with XML. Everyone on the project is still somehow working with XML. XML is great for interoperability however people place too much importance in it. It's just a markup language. I believe it will still play a significant role in Information Technology in the next ten years.

Google Map, Dif and Authentica!

YouTube is great! This video is funny and quite informative about the technology used in "realistic" situations. Okay...but its still funny. Today I worked on my bedroom's wall. I was scrubbing the walls off the wallpaper glue. It's not easy since the glue is caked and it looks ugly. It's a long process and I think it should get done. I talked to my friend Richard and he suggested that I use a wallpaper stripper gel. I therefore bought a product called DIF Gel Wallpaper Stripper . . Hopefully it will work. Other than that I didn't do much. I did help out with an RFP and heard about a company called Authentica .

24 and more...

Image
Today I watched the first four hours of 24 - Season Five . It was quite good and I have say that my wife and I are hooked on this show. As far as other things go, my wife and I took our kids to their pediatrician since both of them have a cough, a cold and a fever. Thankfully it is nothing more than a bronchitis. While today has been a busy day, when I did find time, I researched the following search engines Apache Solr and Red Piranha and they showed alot of promise however I am still a sketic on alpha and beta release products. And finally, the verse for the day is, "And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath." - Luke 6:5 (kjv). The Lord is constant every day, every hour, every minute and every second. He is truly the constant of my wife's and my life.
