OK is different in a good way

Image
I am currently in Oklahoma and life here is quite different. Some of things that are different in Oklahoma: People are "super" nice. Traffic is sparse Gas is cheap Housing is cheap Handful of high rise building in the downtown area Sales taxes is around 8% University of Oklahoma fans are everywhere *yuck* If we are to move here in a few months then I could see why Lord wants us to move here. Saints here having been praying for people who can speak Spanish since the church is in a Latin neighborhood and they want to do outreach in the community. I don't speak the language but Michelle can. I have been praying that she uses it before she forgets it. The meeting also needs young families. The couple I am staying with are great. They have opened up their home and they truly have the gift of hospitality. I pray my wife and I can open up our home for other saints when they are in need of a roof over their heads. Anyway that's all for now.

Oklahoma!

As many of you didn't know, I stayed in Enid, Oklahoma for couple of months after I moved to the US from India in 1990. I did my 9th Grade in Stillwater Junior High School , Oklahoma I did my 10th Grade in Stillwater High School , Oklahoma I got my first driver's license in Stillwater, Oklahoma My mother got diagnosed with Breast Cancer in Stillwater, Oklahoma I spent some time with my mother in Tulsa, Oklahoma when she was going through radiation treatment. My mother died in Stillwater, Oklahoma My mother is buried in Stillwater, Oklahoma I enjoyed my time in Oklahoma since it is unique place. It is not like the Washington DC, nor is it like Seattle, Washington but rather it is a place where you get to know your neighbors. In Oklahoma, you see alot folks who married their high school sweet hearts. You see alot folks chewing tobacco and wearing cowboy hats. Oklahoma is a mix between the farmers of the Kansas and the cowboys in Oklahoma. It's a good place. In closing, my...

KFC - latin american style

Image
On Saturday afternoon I took my mother-in-law and two of my three kids to the mall while my wife and the newborn rested at home. After going to the Disney store, I decided to try the new chicken place in the mall. The chicken place was called Pollo Campero which is a latin american chicken place. I have to say that I do enjoy latin american cuisine which includes Taco Bell , Baja Fresh , Chipotle and my wife and her family's cuban cooking. I didn't know what to expect from this place since my wife and I have add terrible experiences at chicken places like Popeye's and KFC . However I was surprised on how good the food tasted. I ordered eight pieces of chicken, a side of coleslaw, a side of spanish, one regular Sprite and one regular Horchata . I had my first Horchata in Tulsa, Oklahoma and it tasted quite good however Pollo Campero's horchata didn't taste that good. The food tasted latin and it was slightly spicy. I didn't know how my mother-in-la...
